What do the following engravings on a vintage watch mean?
I have a 1940 Benrus military watch that I’m trying to obtain information on.
What do the markings “Fifteen 15 Jewels” and “Four 4 ADJ.” mean? I see that this is a very common marking in watches and I’m curious to find their meanings. Also, Does anyone out there know how to take apart an automatic wind-up watch? I’ve got it taken out of the casing, but can’t figure out what’s wrong.
Thanks!
My suggestion would be to bring it to a jeweler. 15 jewels means that inside the watch movement are 15 jewels. The other engraving I do not know the meaning. Go on ebay and see what price vintage 1940 Benrus military watches are selling for.
